About Npath
We Start at the Slab
Npath is a drywall shop in Riverside, on Alessandro Blvd in the 92509 ZIP. Most of our work is repair, and most of that repair traces back to the same thing: a concrete slab that moves a little with the seasons, and a house sitting on top of it that has to move with it.
The soil under an inland slab takes on water through a wet winter and dries out over a long summer. That is not a defect, it is what soil does here. The frame above flexes by a fraction, and the drywall screwed to that frame is the stiffest, thinnest, least forgiving part of the assembly. So the drywall is where you see it first.
What That Looks Like in a House
A line of small round bumps down a hallway, each one a fastener head that has come proud of the board. A hairline crack running diagonally out of the top corner of a bedroom door. A seam that opens along a ceiling in December and closes again by June. Homeowners often assume the worst when they see any of it, and usually they should not.
Reading Before Repairing
We look at width, direction, and whether the thing is still moving, because those decide the repair. A stable cosmetic crack gets cut, taped and floated. A live one needs the cause dealt with first or the mud simply cracks again in the same line. A ceiling that opens seasonally is truss uplift, and no amount of tape fixes that, only a change to how the ceiling is fastened near the wall.
We are equally willing to tell you nothing needs doing. If your doors still latch, the crack is thin, and it has not grown in a year, that is a paint problem rather than a drywall problem, and we will say so.
Finishing
A repair is only as good as the texture around it. We spray and knock down on site, sample first on anything unusual, and match into what is already on the wall.
