Drainfield Installation
Drainfield and Leach Field Installation in Bangor
The drainfield is where a septic system does its real work, dispersing treated effluent into the soil so it filters clean before it reaches groundwater. When a field surfaces, backs up, or floods after rain, the fix is a properly sized replacement. Npath builds gravel trench and plastic chamber drainfields across Bangor and Penobscot County, sized to the soil so they last.
Why Sizing Matters
A drainfield that is too small floods, and one built in the wrong soil never drains. We size every field from a measured perc rate and the seasonal high water table, which sits close to grade on many lots near Mount Hope Avenue and out toward Glenburn. Where a conventional gravity field will not pass, we design an elevated mound or a pressure dosed system to hold the required separation to groundwater.
Our Process
We confirm the soil with a perc test, lay out the trenches or chambers to plan, set washed drainfield stone and geotextile fabric where the design calls for it, and tie the field back to a level distribution box so every lateral gets its share. We pull the permit, meet the county inspector, and file the as-built before backfill. Most fields are built in a day or two.
